All News 2.2.0.0
For Windows Phone users there are lots of alternatives made just for this purpose and one of those which offer quick access to many news providers is suggestively called All News.
User-friendly interface
This app is less visually appealing as it is bent on functionality, so the plain graphics and lack of cool graphics are partially compensated through a convenient and easily accessible layout.
The information is kept well organized and depending on the source you select, you will get the layout of that online news service right inside the utility.
The waiting time when selecting the articles is not too long, but there are some minor delays in getting and putting on display the content.
A major source of discontent is represented by the presence of the ads that come as animated banners and the only way to remove them is by downloading and running one of the advertised apps.
Pick the news source and view the latest articles
The section where all the sources are hosted can be accessed from the main menu shown in the lower side of the screen and in there you will find international as well as regional editions of BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, RT and many other news sources.
The articles can be read pretty easily, as the text is clear, even if there are no customization options for fonts, paragraphs or color schemes, like is the case of many similar applications.
A nice feature of All News is the support for both portrait and landscape screen orientations that enables you to hold the device in any way you want and still read the articles effortlessly.
Simple configuration and awkward behavior
The app is able to send push notifications for the time interval you want and this option can be easily set up from the "Settings" module of the utility. Also, if you want to view some recent headlines on the live tile, you will have to enable this option form the same area.
After a couple of uses All News displays a rather strange conduct, as most sources will disappear from the main list and you will be left with the international and local branches of RT network.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The appearance of this app is pretty common, without any visually appealing elements of design and many ads instead. |
Function5
Initially there are a good deal of news sources, but some no longer appear on the list, while article sharing features are missing. |
Security4
The application is very inquisitive and requires access to a lot of secure system areas that are not related to its functionality. |
Battery4
The massive amount of power needed by the utility keeps the battery usage at very high values constantly. |
Price8
All the features are free to use, but to remove the adverts users are prompted to install and run third-party apps. |
Compatibility9
All News works well with Windows Phone 8 and above handsets, without having any special requirements. |
