Date: 05 Sep 2009, 19:50 GMT | Mine has served me over the past five years , but with problems. The first sample had a charging fault straight out of the box.
The replacement (brand new again) worked, but after a time the fonts would alter to italics, or even a foreign language: Main Menu, Option 2 was supposed to read "Help". Frequently, this word was replaced by strange letters, such as "y" with umlaut style dots " .."
If left on charge too long, say overnight, the phone either froze totally or lost its signal. The battery had to be removed to reboot it correctly.
The texting function was terribly slow, so much so, that if you pressed the correct key the wrong number of times, you could actually have time to identify that you made a mistake AND correct it before the cursor moved onto the next space!
I had recently bought a new phone, which is maybe not a bad thing considering that recently, the A800 has been starting to lose calls and presented me with a garbled screen when sending a text.
It was a useful phone, but has since proved to be unreliable. |

Date: 31 Jul 2009, 17:38 GMT | My wonderful Samsung A800 has just stopped working after being in use since December 2002. I'm not sure what the problem is yet, hopefully it just needs a new battery so that I can carry on using it! It has been absolutely fantastic and has never, ever let me down, gone wrong, always had a signal even in the most remotest parts of the world when others were struggling with theirs. I love it so much and can't wait to start using it again hopefully. Just so sad that it is discontinued!!! |

Date: 23 Feb 2009, 11:33 GMT | The samsung sgha800 has served me for over 5 years without any problems. It is simple and easy to use, Almost minimalistic by todayś standards. It has outlived a few nokiaś, sony-ericsons and motorolas of my friends and family.
The best mobile phone I ever had. |
