Date: 03 Jul 2007, 22:22 GMT | A stylish trend setter with some glaring technical flaws. Talk time and standby times were compromised by the designs dimensional limits set on battery size. Again, common complaints about voice call performance and reliability all seem tied to the common factor of style or compromises made to style over electrical engineering needs. Early models got still camera function only with no upgrade ability to full video (tough luck for those first on the block). The flat keypad has very stylish brushed metal buttons that are hard to read in poor lighting because the background lighting on the phones with a pale bluish hue is hard to read also. Camera is good and specially good in dark / poor lighting. While the MOT web support is ok but somewhat confusing to find information, please do your self and others a civic favor and throw away the less than useless Motorola manual. While it is printed in both English and Spanish, the diagrams are often undecipherable and prompt calls to customer care. BTW: Motorola outsources there support to India and I get the distinct impression they are not given anything more than the same such manual the user has and often have found frustration in getting something more than a repeat of the words in the manuals. I would say if style is important this the phone that set the pace for the last few years, just make sure to have a cheap candy-bar style phone as backup or at least don't throw that calling card away just yet. Definitely get the Bluetooth headset to avoid open the clamshell to often as I have dealt with many cases of phones barely out of warranty falling apart at the joints or having the clamshell data ribbon snap. |
