Yahoo Weather 1.6.8
When it comes to weather apps, Yahoo is known for having one of the best looking ones out there, mostly thanks to its constant access to the Flickr photo collection, which is where the app takes its background pictures from.
What will you get?
The tool provides users with forecasts, heat and wind maps, additional information such as the sunrise and sunset times and so on. It’s all customized to fit with your location, which means that you’ll get the data you need at any time.
Since I mentioned the background pictures, you should know that those too are from the city you live in, although you’ve probably already recognized it. Furthermore, if it’s raining you’ll notice that your screen is also peppered with rain beads just like you’d see watching out your window, with drops sliding down from time to time. Behind the “glass” you’ll notice the rain falling down.
Similarly, when it shows you’ll notice the flakes falling down over the background photo. Weather conditions are also available for fog and extreme heat. Sure, it’s all a gimmick, but it’s still a pretty cool one.
As mentioned, you get access to a lot of data, including hour-by-hour forecasts, day-by-day forecasts for the next five or ten days, a precipitation forecast for the morning, afternoon, evening and night, as well as additional details such as how many degrees it actually feels like outside, how high’s the humidity, visibility and the UV Index.
The wind and pressure are also available, as well as the lunar stage and time for the sunrise and sunset.
Add multiple cities
Another cool feature Yahoo Weather comes with is the ability to add multiple cities to the mix so you can either check the weather in the town you want to visit, or where your friends live.
Basically, Yahoo’s weather app is all that you could wish for and frankly, a little bit more than that since your regular user won’t actually look at all those numbers. Nonetheless, it’s nice to have them there since it makes the app that much more complex and gives a feel that they know what they’re talking about, so to say.
