Fused 1.2

Fused lets you blend together photos and videos with some cool tools
If you’ve ever played around with a professional photo editing tool, then you probably know that layering pictures isn’t exactly the most difficult job in the world if you fiddle with the images’ transparency.

Doing this on the go, however, is a bit of a different story since mobile apps rarely offer such capabilities.

Blend videos, pictures

Well, aside from apps such as Fused, which will do this with great ease. What’s more and makes this app even cooler is the fact that you can even blend videos together, or mix videos and photos, or just photos. Any combination works for the app and that’s just fine with users since it’s not something you find often.

The app works pretty simple. The screen is split three ways. The bottom two areas are where you add the pictures and videos you want to take through the double exposure process. Once you have them lined up, you can switch between them with ease by just swiping over the screen.

The third area of the screen hosts the end result – the area where the two pictures (in my case) are fused together.

Blending options

In a thick ribbon between the two areas, you can access a few tools to help better fit the two pictures. One allows you to pick a blending mode and adjust the level of blending, while another lets you fiddle with the contrast, brightness and exposure of any of the two pictures you’ve added. A third button exposes a few masking tools, while the last one lets you arrange the two pictures again, whether that means to mirror them, to rotate or flip them.

A lot of the filters that can be added to the design are blocked by a paywall. Fortunately, they’re not too expensive, so you can certainly afford a few of them if you really want to venture away from the free package.

The resulting work is automatically saved to the library and can be shared to Facebook, Tumblr, Flickr, via email or via any other tool that’s in your Share drawer.

The app is pretty great and with a little patience you can come up with some great ideas that you’ll take pride in.
