Keeping informed about the things that happen in the world is important, but most days we don’t all have the time for in-depth reading that we’d like to. On such occasions, it’s best if you just read the short version of the news so you can at least know what’s happening.

Circa is an app that was built to bring you the latest news, the most important stories, so you never miss what’s happening. This isn’t just an RSS reader, either, so you won’t be doing much to pick sources and so on, things that are common on such occasions.

Condensed news

Instead, Circa editors work to condense the most important news, breaking them down into the facts you need, and adjourning them with quotes, photos, maps and so on, just so you can save time when reading.

If you find a story that you’re interested in, you can follow it by tapping a simple button. This will, in turn allow you to get updates every time there’s something new on that particular story. When this happens, you’ll get a notification so you know to check it out.

The app’s interface is pretty simple and easy to navigate. The main page contains a lot of articles that you can scan through. Once you pick one, you can read the content card by card. These can be checked out by scrolling through them or by simply tapping on one you want to read to get it highlighted.

Stories can be shared with the world via SMS, email, Twitter or Facebook. At the end of the page, you’ll be able to pick out articles to read further, as well as to check out what sources the Circa editors used for the condensed stories.

Daily brief

The app also comes with an extra feature, called Wire, which you can use to get the daily news brief with curated news from the app’s team. Even so, they’re always up to date, so you won’t just get this morning’s news, but rather articles that actually recent.

The app is pretty nice and it could certainly help you get the latest information about things that happen in the most efficient way possible. This is a great pick if you don’t have that much time to read a lot extra information that’s not essential to a news story.
