You’ve probably did this yourself at some point - you recorded a vertical video. And you probably know that the problems of such a clip are many.

For starters, you can’t full screen it properly. Even with Google’s best efforts to make people stop recording vertical videos, Snapchat and Periscope lovers seem to be pretty enthusiastic about this type of video shooting.

Well, the folks at Android Police have discovered that, finally, the YouTube app for Android is getting the ability to play vertical videos in full screen, just like we’ve always dreamed of. Previously, full screening such a video meant you had to watch it constrained in the letterbox designed for landscape clips.

The feature is found in version 10.28 of the app, which will probably arrive in the Google Play store at some point in the future. Although you can pick up the APK now and test the functionality for yourself.

This version is also expected to add several modifications to the app’s offline playback feature, which will allow users to download and watch low-quality videos later on their device without wasting additional memory space.
