Chinese device manufacturer Xiaomi has big plans for the remainder of this year: the device maker is hoping to sell 100 million phones by the end of the year and it might just as well reach its target.

According to Xiaomi Today, one of the company’s best sellers, the Redmi Note 2, is on track to reach 10 million sales. The news was brought to us by the company’s founder and CEO Ley Jun, so it comes from an official source.

To achieve this performance, Xiaomi had to invest a lot of money into buying equipment in order to ensure product quality and consistency. But all the money poured into updating the production line was worth it because the company was able to sell up to 13 million phones (sales of Xiaomi’s cheapest phone, the Redmi 2A, are also included).

What’s more, the company’s new Redmi 4c also takes advantage of the automated production line Xiaomi has been using as of late. At launch, the Redmi Note 2 sold 2.15 million units internationally during its first month.

The Redmi Note 2 made a debut into the wild with a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (401 ppi) and a MediaTek MT6795 (Helio X10) chipset under the hood, plus 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.

The phone shipped with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, and as you can see, it’s a pretty decent offering.
