WhatsApp announced on its blog that it introduced a new feature for users to customize and enhance pictures and videos that they wish to share with their friends. The new camera features allow users to write or draw on images and videos, as well as add emojis that would help them express themselves more easily.

The new editing tools are available when users capture a new photo or video, or even when they share media files that are found on their phones. Users can add emojis, draw various things or add text. There are multiple customization tools for text, including the option to change the color and font style.

The report also mentions that WhatsApp’s camera feature now supports the front-facing flash, so that users can take pictures even in low-light conditions.

WhatsApp also added a new way for zooming on recording videos, users simply need to slide their fingers up and down to zoom in and out. They can also switch between front and rear cameras by double tapping on the screen.

WhatsApp has announced that the new features will be made available to Android smartphones starting today and will arrive to iPhones soon.

In related news, many WhatsApp users have been recently displeased with the application’s decision to share account information with Facebook for advertising purposes. Apparently, officials from the EU and India have ordered Facebook to delete data shared with WhatsApp as it infringes user privacy laws.
