HP has been true to its word and has started to deliver a new software update for the TouchPad. Although it decided to kill the device, the company promised to offer support for it.

The new update arrives on devices as webOS 3.0.5 and is being delivered for free over the air. It brings along a variety of improvements, as well as bug fixes.

Some of the main enhancements that the new update sports would include faster switching in Calendar views, along with faster scrolling in Email and the ability to indicate IM presence, or HTTP Live Streaming capabilities.

Following the update, users will benefit from better stability when watching video in the Web app, as well as from a dedicated view of contacts available for a video call. The device will also alert them when the video quality is lower because of network issues.
