Sprint and US Cellular have already deployed Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, but major carrier Verizon Wireless has yet to offer the upgrade to its customers.

However, it looks like an update for both Samsung's flagship smartphones is still being rolled out as we speak, but it's not the highly anticipated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update.

The changelog for both updates is similar, so no matter which Galaxy S6 you own, you will get the same new features an improvements.

In fact, the changes are very few and promise to improve some features that are already present, but also adds a new one. So, if you own the Verizon Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge and receive this small update, here is what you get.

First of all, the update is meant to improve the Reactivation Lock anti-theft feature that's already included in bot Galaxy S6 smartphones.

According to Verizon, the update should bring security improvements to Samsung's Reactivation Lock (protection for lost or stolen devices).

Last but not least, the minor update that's now being pushed to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge adds roaming support to wireless service in Puerto Rico. These are all the changes included in this update, but we expect Verizon to come out with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop pretty soon.
