The mid-range LG G Vista made its debut in the United States about a year ago, but at that time, the smartphone came preloaded with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

Both the Verizon and AT&T versions were shipped with the same version of Android, but the Big Red is about to update the phone's software and supposedly make it better.

Beginning this week, Verizon customers that own the LG G Vista should look for a new update that should bring their smartphones directly to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

According to the official changelog, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop brings lots of new graphical changes, new features, improvements, and many bug fixes.

Aside from the usual Material Design concept, the update also adds some enhancements to Home touch buttons, lock screen notifications, Smart Lock, Shade Lock, interruptions and security.

Moreover, Verizon has also confirmed that Settings are now searchable, so users will now be able to search through all the setting listings for what they need.

There's also a new feature called Screen Pinning, which allows users to lock the device to a single application. By simply holding the Back and Recent buttons at the same time, you will be able to unpin the application.

A new floating action button has been added for the main applications to promote the key action, such as adding or composing new items.

There are many other new features and improvements included in the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for LG G Vista, so don't forget to check out the full changelog provided by the carrier.
