After delivering Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for LG G Stylo a few days ago, T-Mobile announced that the same update is now available for another LG smartphone, the Leon.

LG Leon made it to market back in April with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. However, it appears that the South Korean company has decided that the smartphone is worthy of being upgraded to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

According to T-Mobile, beginning June 30, the LG Leon will receive a mandatory update to software Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (software H34510e) available gradually via OTA (over the air) push over Wi-Fi only.

This means that it will only be available for download over Wi-Fi. The good news is beginning July 10, the update will also be available via cellular data.

Moving on to actual changes included in this update, T-Mobile confirmed that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop should bring improvements to battery life (for Wi-Fi Calling) and display.

But apart from that, LG Leon will also get some security features (Device Protection), but also some quick settings tweaks and dual-SIM support.

It will be interesting to see whether or not LG will continue to deploy Android 5.1.1 Lollipop updates to its mid-range handsets because the company was pretty clear when it stated that G4 wouldn't be getting it.
