After T-Mobile, now Sprint does the honors

A few days ago we said that T-Mobile was the first carrier in the US to unleash the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge units.

Well, this week Sprint is following suit, so owners of Samsung’s latest flagships activating under the carrier can expect to see an OTA update arrive on their respective handsets.

The Sprint update will add a bunch of bug fixes plus a few Sprint-specific improvements. You should see the OTA bump the firmware on the phones to builds G920VPU20F7 and G925PVPU2B0F7, respectively.

The downloads weight around 570MB, so make sure you have your battery charged above the 50% margin before you initiate the download.

Like always, the update will be released in stages, so don’t fret out if you haven’t seen yours arrive yet. While you wait, you might want to head over to Settings-> About Phone -> System Update and check manually if the new software has arrived or not.

Sprint has not shared a change log with us, but we do expect to see Android 5.1 bestow RAW support and add lower ISO values to the overall camera experience on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
