Sony hasn't made it official yet, but the highly anticipated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is now rolling out to Xperia T2 Ultra Dual devices.

The information has been recently confirmed by XperiaBlog, which also reports the update might soon arrive for the single SIM version of the smartphone.

It's unclear where exactly the rollout has started, but we suspect all Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual owners, regardless of their locations, will receive it in the next couple of weeks.

If you own the Xperia T2 Ultra Dual, then you might want to start checking for the update. If it doesn't show on your smartphone yet, you can try again later since this is most likely a staged rollout so not everyone will get the update at the same time.

One other Xperia mid-range smartphone is expected to receive a similar update soon. In fact, all Sony Xperia C3 models should get Android 5.1.1 Lollipop as well, it's just a matter of time.

For those unaware, here are some details on the changes the update should bring. First of all, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is mostly a bug-fixing update, so expect lots of the issues that you had in the past with your Xperia T2 Ultra Dual to be squashed.

Last but not least, Sony also added a patch for the dangerous Stagefright vulnerability that was so much discussed in the last weeks.
