Sections of the application get a new look

Snapchat is one of the biggest social networking applications out there, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t require continuous improvement. With that in mind, developers from Snapchat have updated the app on both Android and iOS platforms.

Snapchat now comes with a new look and feel for Stories and Discover sections. In previous versions, the Discover section simply displayed the name of each user in a grid of circles.

The new version now features more detailed sections that show each publisher’s name, together with the story title and images associated with it. Subscribing is made easy as users just need to swipe up from a channel on the Discover page.

The Snapchat app now shows a more prominent Live section that displays recent events that occurred on the platform. The section also provides users with a glimpse of what they can see, before they actually open the story.

These aren’t the only changes in the update, as the application also allows users to tap on the navigation buttons at the bottom to jump between screens. The navigation bar comes with proper icons for chat and stories, but users can still swipe left or right to access these features.

The update has already started rolling out, and users can get the new version from the Play Store for Android-running devices or the App Store for iPhones.
