Samsung is bound to launch the tablet soon enough

During its IFA 2015 event, Samsung displayed an elusive image of a tablet which was called the Galaxy View. As it turns out, the tablet in question is Samsung’s huge 18.4-inch slob which has previously leaked in the wild.

Well, that tablet has just been spotted going through the FCC with model number SM-T677A and AT&T LTE in tow. The sketches seen on the FCC documents also show that the tablet features stereo speakers on the back and possibly a kickstand.

Specs of the Galaxy View have already leaked online, so we pretty much know what to expect from the slate, but if you haven’t caught sight of them yet, we’ll refresh your memory in what follows.

According to a benchmark listing, the tablet will make it out with a 18.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and a Samsung Exynos 7 Octa (four A53 cores plus four A57 cores) nestled under the hood and fitted with ARM Mali-T720 and 2GB of RAM. Samsung will also throw in 32GB of internal storage. Apparently, there’s no rear camera to speak of, just a 2MP snapper up in front.

The tablet has a 5,700 mAh battery which is quite small considering that the tablet is so huge. Much smaller models, like the 8-inch Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 with Android, rely on much loftier power juicers. In this case, for the Lenovo tablet, one of the 6,400 mAh variety.

As you can see, the Galaxy View doesn’t seem to stand out spec-wise, so we’re pretty curious how Samsung plans to market it. Except highlighting that it’s extremely huge.
