The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is a pretty old smartphone that Samsung has no intention of upgrading to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, at least according to the latest rumors.

However, that doesn't mean that the smartphone isn't eligible for previous versions of Android, which many current devices are still running.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo was launched back in 2013 with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system right out of the box, which wasn't out of the ordinary for that time.

Further down the line, Samsung released Android 4.4 KitKat for the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, and more recently Android 5.0 Lollipop.

If you thought this would be the last major update that the Galaxy Note 3 Neo would receive, then you couldn't be more wrong.

According to SamMobile, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is now available for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo, although the update has only been released in Russia for the unlocked version.

We suspect that Samsung will continue the rollout of this major update for Galaxy Note 3 Neo to other countries by the end of the year, but since the South Korean company did not announce anything, it's hard to tell where it will be available next.

As mentioned earlier, we doubt the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow since it's such an old smartphone, but anything is possible.
