Not so long ago, we told you that Samsung was working on a new smartphone lineup dubbed the Galaxy O. Well, it appears that the first models to make a debut under the O banner will be the Galaxy Grand On and Galaxy Mega On.

Another possibility is that Samsung might launch a secondary series called On, but this is just speculation at this point. Anyway, the folks at Sam Mobile have already stumbled on the preliminary spec lists of the devices, so we can share them with you.

The two new phones are going to be lower-end affairs, with the Galaxy Mega On (SM-G600) arriving with a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels) and a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz fitted with 1.5GB of RAM.

Other specs include a 13MP/5MP camera combo, 8GB of internal storage, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The dimensions of the phone are poised to be 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2 mm / 5.9 x 3.05 x 0.33 inches and its weight 145 g / 0.31 lbs.

As for the Galaxy Grand On (SM-G550), this variant will arrive with a smaller 5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels) and will take advantage of the Korean company’s own Exynos 3475 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, plus 1GB of RAM.

We’re also told to expect an 8MP camera to don the back of the phone and a 2,600 mAh battery to keep things moving along. The Grand On’s dimensions are 142 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm / 5.5 x 2.83 x 0.33 inches, with a weight of 140 g / 0.30 lbs.

Both models will launch with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. As you can see, nothing too mind-blowing here. Hopefully Samsung puts a decent price on them.
