Samsung is prepping its next flagship, the Galaxy Note 5

Samsung’s current flagships are the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, but we all know that, on August 13, Samsung is going to host a new Unpacked event in New York where we expect to see the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ get announced.

And that means the flagship status will be taken by the newcomers, so the Galaxy S6 duo will probably be pushed back from the spotlight. But Samsung hopes this won’t the case. So in order to ensure customers are still interested in the Galaxy S6 even as the Galaxy Note 5 comes out, the Korean tech giant has lowered the price of the expensive flagships with a hefty €100 / $109.

Which means that in Europe (more specifically in the Netherlands), the Galaxy S6 with 32GB of RAM can be purchased for €599 / $657 and the Galaxy S6 edge 32GB of RAM is up for sale for €699 / $767. The new prices are already up on Samsung’s online shop, but for the time being, only customers in Netherlands can take advantage of the offer.

However, it does seem very likely that other countries in Europe will soon be getting the same treatment. So if you have been mulling over the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge but felt discouraged because of the price, now might be the time to act (if you’re in the Netherlands).
