We can't say this is unexpected, but Angry Birds 2, recently teased by Rovio, won't be available on Windows Phone platform at launch on July 30.

Since Windows Phone has such a low market share worldwide, the Finnish developer has decided against releasing its next game in the Angry Birds franchise on this particular mobile operating system.

As WMPU points out, none of the Angry Birds games released by Rovio was available on Windows Phone at launch, so the confirmation doesn't come as a surprise at all.

Here is Rovio's statement regarding Angry Birds 2's upcoming launch on July 30: “Unfortunately, Angry Birds 2 will not be released for Windows Phones.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope that you have a chance to play the game on one of the supported platforms, such as Android or iOS! “

That being said, Windows Phone users will probably have to wait several months or even years until Angry Birds 2 will make it to their favorite platform.

However, it will be interesting to see whether or not Rovio will launch Angry Birds 2 on Windows 10 as well. That will make it easier to Windows Phone fans to try out Rovio's game.

Update: Sadly, Rovio confirmed that it has not intention to bring Angry Birds 2 to Windows 10 for the moment.
