Pinterest is quite a popular application thanks to the fact that it offers collections of images and products that users can buy quickly. Now it seems that the company has introduced a new feature that allows users to shop for items by simply taking their picture.

Last year, Pinterest launched a tool that allowed users to buy items they found on Pinterest directly from their phones. This year, the company has come up with an even more convenient feature, one that makes it easier to find and purchase items quickly.

Users can now take pictures of items, and the application will automatically search for them and allow users to place them in their shopping carts. Pinterest has also rolled out a new visual search feature that's called automatic object detection.

This new tool allows the app to look for specific items in a pinned photo. Users can tap a visual search icon on the screen, and the application will display the list of items that are similar to the element inside the image.

Pinterest is also introducing a new feature regarding the shopping bag. Items that users have searched and added in the shopping cart part of the application are also available in the web version. It's also worth knowing that it has also introduced a new portal that's called Pinterest Shop, which is a collection of the best Pins hand-picked by in-house and guest editors on Pinterest.

The new shopping bag feature is available on Android while the automatic object detection tool for visual search is available only on iOS for now. The camera search feature will be rolling out later this year.
