The iOS version of Periscope has just received a major update that adds quite a few new features and improvements. It has already been released in App Store so iOS users should now go ahead and check for the newest version of Periscope.

The most important new feature included in this update would be the fact that you will now be able to mute users.

Developers have added a notification setting for the people that you follow, so when you mute someone, their broadcasts still appear in the your feed, but you won't receive push notifications when they go live.

There's also a new Language Preferences option in the profile settings, so you can now choose your language preferences for Periscope. The languages selected will certainly influence which broadcasts appear in the global list.

Furthermore, developers introduced broadcast stats, so when viewing your past broadcasts, the viewer statistics will now be visible.

Last but not least, iOS 8 Handoff allows users to start watching a broadcast on one device, and transition to watching it on another smoothly.

However, you need to be sure that both devices run iOS 8 or OS X and that they have Bluetooth enabled. Also, you need to be logged in to the same iCloud account.

You can now download Periscope for iOS for free via App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 7.1 or later.
