Custom ROM appreciators are probably familiar with the Paranoid Android endeavor. Well, today we have very good news for folks who like to install a custom ROM or two on their respective Android devices.

The team behind the project has just announced Paranoid Android 5.1 for a slew of Nexus devices, including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 9. For some reason, Nexus 10 users have been left out of the equation, but things might get rectified at some point.

The team has announced that the latest AOSP version embeds key Paranoid features such as Theme Engine, Quick Settings Recording, App Ops, Advanced Power Menu, and the long-coming Immersive mode.

Paranoid Android has recently seen some of its key members switch sides and go on to be part of the OnePlus family for which they are developing Oxygen OS. OnePlus also had to deal with a divorce, as custom ROM maker Cyanogen broke up the partnership it had with the device maker, after signing an exclusive deal in India with Micromax.

While the Android 5.1-based Paranoid ROM is currently available only for Nexus devices, the team should be able to expand the availability of the solution to other models soon.

It’s been a long wait but Paranoid Android 5.1 has finally arrived!
