Panasonic is a company mostly known for its camera products, but the company is also striving to make a name for itself in the smartphone business.

The device maker has put out lots of models on the Indian market, but success is yet to come to its door. However, Panasonic keeps unleashing smartphone model after smartphone model. And here’s the latest it has to offer.

The Panasonic Eluga Switch is another mid-range smartphone that arrives with a 5.5-inch display with 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution and takes advantage of Asahi Dragon Tail Glass protection (as spotted at NDTV).

Like most advanced middle-range phones these days, the Eluga Switch takes advantage of a Snapdragon 615 processor which works hand in hand with an Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (sadly, non-expandable).

On the photography front, the Eluga Switch features a 13MP camera with LED Flash plus an 8MP snapper living up in front. The phone features a 2,910 mAh battery which keeps everything alive and rolling.

It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Panasonic’s own Reversible UI plastered on top and is equipped with 4G connectivity.

You are probably wondering why Panasonic chose to call the device the Switch. Well, that’s because you can use the handset in any position, even upside down. This sounds very similar to what the Alcatel Idol 3 offers.

The Panasonic Eluga Switch arrives in Gun Metal Grey and can be purchased for $300 / €260 in India.
