Opera has just announced that it has updated its Opera Mini app on Android with a video download feature and home screen bookmarks. The new goodies have started rolling out today in the new update on Google Play Store.

Opera Mini for Android has welcomed two new features that make it easier for users to browse for content online. One of them is video download, which basically means that users can now save video files to their smartphones and watch them later.

The main advantage of video download is that users would save on mobile data and they won't have to worry anymore about finding Wi-Fi networks so that they could watch a video. Videos can be downloaded to the handset's internal storage or SD card, and the feature works on video websites without their own built-in media players.

Videos can be downloaded during playback, simply by tapping on the download icon in the top-right corner of the screen. It's worth mentioning that the new feature won't work on YouTube.

The new update also brings some neat features specially created for users from India. Opera will be providing Bollywood news and cricket updates on the home screen for users who currently reside in India.

A few months ago, Opera got another major update with some new features that were related to search and download options. The new feature allowed users to get more control of search and downloads on their Android devices. They would specify in which category they would like the app to look into, like photos and videos.
