Will the device maker announce another smartphone?

We’ve been talking quite a lot about OnePlus recently, given the fact that the device maker is anticipated to launch a new handset soon. The rumor mill has dubbed it either the OnePlus X or OnePlus Mini, but its specs are pretty blurry at the moment.

Still, we might be a few days away from actually knowing what the OnePlus X takes advantage of. FoneArena reports that OnePlus India has started sending out invites to a press event scheduled for October 12 in Bangalore.

The invitation is pretty shady, saying that the company plans to “reiterate the relevance of the Indian market in the OnePlus grown story and announce ‘The Next Big Step’.” The company’s CEO Pete Lau will also be present at the event, so we could assume that the third smartphone in OnePlus’ history is going to be unveiled.

A few days ago, we shared a bunch of extra details about the upcoming OnePlus model, including the fact that the device is expected to arrive around November or December. So it might just be a little too early for the phone to make its debut.

The latest hearsay indicates that the OnePlus X could make it out with a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and a MediaTek Helio X10 processor under the hood combined with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (microSDXC card provided also).

Tune in on October 12 to see what OnePlus has to say.
