Motorola itself has announced this will be the case

When Motorola hosted a press event a few weeks ago where it introduced the Moto G (3rd-gen), Moto X Play and Moto X Style, it also announced a brand new feature called the “Chop Chop” gesture.

The gesture allows users to turn on the flashlight application by shaking the phone like you’d be chopping an item with a knife. While this feature doesn’t sound too mind blowing, it might be useful if you ever find yourself in need of quick illumination.

Well, it seems that this option won’t be featured on the Moto X Play, as Motorola has just confirmed on Twitter. Sorry folks!

The device maker also says that the phone doesn’t support gyroscope either. But apart from that, the Moto X Play is a pretty swell device.

The Moto X Play is a middle-range smartphone that arrives with a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and draws life from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.

Motorola also throws in 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot). The handset also bundles an advanced 21MP camera on the back, plus a 5MP selfie shooter up in front.

It ships out with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, but knowing Motorola’s track record, we’re pretty sure the Moto X Play will receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow as soon as the new build makes it out into the wild.

Last but not least, we should mention that the Moto X Play is sustained alive by a pretty hefty 3,630 mAh battery.
