Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a popular tablet, still

These days we’re getting exciting information about which Samsung devices are going to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow first, but the thing is some of Sammy’s phones and tablets are still stuck at Android 4.4 KitKat.

Like the popular Galaxy Note 8.0, for example. And sadly, according to Samsung UK, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the device has been canceled due to limited hardware capacity.

The tablet got released back in February 2013 and arrived with an 8-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The device utilizes the services of a quad-core Exynos 4412 Cortex-A9 CPU alongside Mali-400MP4 GPU and 2GB RAM LPDDR2.

When the slate got released into the world, it came running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, but since then it received the Android 4.4 KitKat update over-the-air (OTA). Well, it now seems this is all the Galaxy Note 8.0 will ever get, so sorry folks.

In all possibility Samsung has dropped support for the device, because let’s face it, the Galaxy Note 8.0 is more than 2 years of age.

On the other hand, just because Samsung UK has canceled the update for the Galaxy Note 8.0 doesn’t mean we won’t see other Samsung subsidiaries roll out the update in some regions.

After all, the same scenario happened with the Galaxy S4 mini, so cheers to hoping.
