Do you remember that LG put out the Vu 3 phablet sometime towards the end of 2013? Well, the device shipped out with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and since then, LG pushed the Android 4.4 KitKat update on it. But what about the next level?

Most Vu 3 owners have been hoping their device will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop treatment at some point, but sadly, according to a new report coming out GSM Arena, this scenario won't become a reality.

Apparently, the Korean company revealed that the Android Lollipop update for the Vu 3 couldn’t be brought to a stable state, so the device maker axed plans for releasing it altogether.

This is bad news for Vu 3 owners and is a little puzzling since the phablet did come with hardware capable to accommodate the rigors of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The device arrived with a 5.2-inch display with 960 x 1280 pixel resolution and a Snapdragon 800 breathing life from under the hood. The phablet also bundled 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The Vu 3 had a pretty capable 13MP frontal shooter with autofocus and LED flash plus a 2.1MP secondary camera pulling the strings in the photography department.

However, we need to accept reality and the fact that the Vu 3 will remain stuck at Android 4.4 KitKat.
