This year, Google unveiled not one but two Nexus smartphones. However, despite some fickle rumors that a Nexus 8 tablet was being prepped for launch, no slate actually saw the light of day during the September event.

Even so, if you still crave a Nexus tablet, you still have the opportunity to buy the Nexus 9 or Nexus 7 (2013). The Nexus 9 is the newest addition and just today it started receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Even more excitingly, the slate is currently being discounted on Amazon, so you can get it with 25% off.

The original price was of $479.99 / €428, which was pretty hefty, but now you can grab the tablet for $347 €309 instead, with shipping costs included. The device launched last year during the Google I/O 2014 event and made a debut into the wild with a 9-inch display with QXGA resolution (meaning 2048 x 1536 pixels) and an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor under the hood.

Actually, the tablet was the very first slate to bundle NVIDIA’s super hyped (back then) Tegra platform. As you can see, the fuss around NVIDIA’s chipset has died down this year, as we stopped seeing products based on the architecture.

The slate ships out with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. HTC also throws in an 8MP/1.6MP camera combo in case you want to engage in tablet photography with the device.

The promotion will probably remain available for a limited time.
