Tomorrow is the big day, as Google will be hosting an important event during which it will unveil two Nexus smartphones, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, the first devices to make it out with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

While most of the specs of the Huawei-made Nexus 6P have already appeared online, there is one aspect that might have escaped leaksters after all. The phone has just gotten spotted going through the FCC. Actually, the documents reveal two phones, the Huawei H1511 and Huawei H512, but it’s pretty clear the two models are the Nexus 6P, especially since the FCC identification label on the H1512 actually says so.

Anyway, we all know the Huawei Nexus will arrive with a 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, a Snapdragon 810 under the hood, 3GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. The phone will boast a metal case and will be supported by a 3,450mAh battery.

But there’s also something we weren’t expecting. According to the FCC docs, the Nexus 6P will have a microSD card slot. Interestingly enough, the phone should make it out into retail with 32/64/128GB storage options. So we assumed that microSD wasn’t in the cards.

Now the FCC documents prove us wrong. If this turns out to be true, it means that the Nexus 6P is the first phone launched under the Google banner to come with a microSD card slot since the Nexus One.

We can’t say we didn’t see this coming, since one of Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s new feats is support for “adoptable external storage devices.”
