Motorola just unveiled the third-generation Moto G and Moto X smartphones during a press event a few days ago. But rumor has it the company is also looking to refresh its Droid model soon enough.
According to a new tweet coming from @evleaks, the Verizon-bound smartphone will be making a debut into the wild as the Droid Turbo 2. On top of that, we’re told that Motorola is supposedly readying a Droid Maxx 2 (also headed for Verizon), the successor of the 2013 Droid Maxx.
But for the moment, we don’t have a lot of information to share with you related to the new models. Still, we expect the Droid Turbo 2 to be a high-end affair like the original Droid Turbo before it. The Droid Maxx 2,0 on the other hand, should be a mid-ranger of sort. Naturally, we’re just assuming here, so don’t take the info as being 100% accurate.
Depending on when the phones get launched, the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 could arrive with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop or Android M out of the box. Google is expected to launch the final version of Android M sometime in October, probably alongside the first devices bundling the new OS, the LG-made Nexus 5 (2015) and the Huawei Nexus.
So now I'm hearing that there are going to be both a MAXX 2 as well as a Turbo 2.
