Voice translation has been added for Arabic, Catalan, more

Microsoft's Translator application for Windows Phone devices has just been updated with support for more languages, as well as some improvements.

According to developers, the latest update should brings voice translation support for languages like Arabic, Catalan, Chinese (Hong Kong), Chinese (Taiwan), Danish, Dutch, English (New Zealand), Finnish, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese and Swedish.

But that's not all the new features included in this update. The official changelog also mentions the new version of Translator comes with offline translation for Hindi language.

Last but not least, developers have added romanization of translation in Chinese and simplified Hindi languages.

For those out of the loop, Microsoft's Translator application provides text translation for more than 40 languages. Simply type in a text and the application will automatically translate it for you.

Also, the application features camera translation, which means it can translate signs, menus, newspapers, or any printed text with the smartphone's camera.

Offline translation is available as well, for when users don't have access to Internet or they want to avoid expensive data roaming charges.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Translator for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
