Microsoft is doing everything it can to attract as many customers as possible. Although some customers might have never owned a smartphone before getting their Windows Phone device, the vast majority comes from other mobile platforms.

The more people switch to Windows Phone from other OSes like Android, iOS and BlackBerry, the larger Microsoft's market share becomes.

In order to accommodate new Windows Phone users to their smartphones, Microsoft recently launched a useful application that's now available for download on Windows Phone Store.

Try Lumia offers Windows Phone owners tutorials in the form of videos and slides, which provide insight on some of the basic features offered by their smartphone.

Even though the application is completely useless for advanced Windows Phone users, it comes in handy to newcomers to this operating system.

Also, some of the videos recommended by the application are already implemented in the Windows Phone handsets, but new users might not find their location easily enough.

If you want to know more about Microsoft's mobile operating system, you can now download Try Lumia for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store.

Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1.
