Google has released Android 7.0 Nougat previews so that the upcoming OS could be tested on multiple devices before the global rollout. The preview program includes Nexus smartphones, Sony Xperia Z3, and Sony Xperia X Performance handsets, and now LG G5 has just joined the bunch.

LG has announced that the company's flagship, the G5, will be the next smartphone to get Android 7.0 Nougat previews, but there's a catch. Only units in South Korea will get the update, which isn't surprising, considering this is LG's home country, and Android 7.0 Nougat is still in its beta version.

Getting Android 7.0 Nougat on LG G5 units isn't that easy, as aside from having to be in South Korea, you also need to be using the company's Uplus cellular network and be one of the first 2,000 people to register on LG's website.

LG's preview program isn't actually part of Google's Android Program, and users will be testing the newest Android version with LG's skin on it. The company isn't known to make many design changes when it comes to its LG UX. LG G5 came with LG UX 5.0 based on Android Marshmallow, and it would be interesting to see what design changes LG has brought to its UX on top of Android 7.0 Nougat.

Nevertheless, LG is currently testing Android 7.0 Nougat for a future rollout to its smartphones. The company is also preparing to release the upcoming LG V20, the first non-Nexus smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
