Rumors on iPhone 4S' possible launch at China Telecom have come and gone, but the carrier did not reveal any details regarding the exact release date of the smartphone.

Today, the Chinese carrier came forward with an official announcement confirming that it would start offering Apple's iPhone 4S from March 9. Customers who wish to reserve an iPhone 4S via China Telecom will be able to do so beginning March 2.

It appears that the carrier will offer all three versions of the iPhone 4S: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. It is also worth mentioning that all three models will be available for free on select plans in China Telecom store locations and online.

Initially slated for a February release, it's possible that China Telecom was forced to delay the iPhone 4S launch for March due to China Unicom's exclusive access to the device.
