Just a few days ago, we reported that a Samsung Galaxy S7 saved the life of a man after he was involved in a shipwreck and used the waterproof phone to call authorities. Now, a Huawei P8 Lite unit has come to the rescue and stopped a bullet from harming its owner.

It seems that the incident took place in August, according to GizmoChina. Siraaj Abrahams was robbed at gunpoint in a parking lot and shot from a distance of about 2 meters. Thankfully, his Huawei P8 Lite unit was safely stored in his front pocket and managed to stop the bullet and save the man’s life.

The smartphone doesn’t have a metal body, but it would seem that its plastic build was enough to stop a bullet from a 2-meter distance.

The images show how the bullet hit the back panel of the phone and stopped right before it could penetrate the front panel. Needless to say, the handset isn’t functional anymore, but it sure surpassed its duties as a phone.

The report also mentions another incident in which a Huawei saved a man’s life. During the general elections in Kenya, an individual by the name of Millward Brown was almost hit by a stray bullet that his Huawei Mediapad managed to dodge. The Mediapad was stored in his back pocket and stopped the bullet before it could harm him.
