Huawei will reveal new models at IFA 2015

Back at IFA 2014, Huawei unveiled the mid-range Ascend G7 handset. And it appears that the company might be cooking up a successor for the model, poised to be introduced at this year's Berlin tradeshow.

Since Huawei decided to drop the “Ascend” moniker from its nomenclature, we expect this product to be launched in the wild as the G8. The phone already surfaced in China’s notorious regulatory website TENAA, which reveals some photos and specs of the device (as seen at the Android Headlines).

The G8 bears model number AL00 and is a metal-clad handset with pretty sleek bezels. The spec list goes like this: we have a 5.5-inch display, an unknown Kirin processor on the inside, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 13MP main camera with dual tone flash.

There’s also a fingerprint scanner located on the back, similar to the one that can be found on the Mate 7, most likely.

As you can see from the images we shared with you, the handset seems quite sleek and should probably sell for a pretty affordable price tag.

Given that the phone was certified by China’s version of the FCC, we can be fairly sure the device will be coming soon enough. IFA 2015 is scheduled to start in early September.
