HTC One M9 owners rejoice, as the Taiwanese handset maker has just announced Android 5.1 Lollipop update will arrive at Sprint this week.

According to HTC's Mo Versi, the company has just received technical approval on Android 5.1 Lollipop for Sprint One M9. He also mentioned that the OTA (over the air) should be pushed beginning July 1.

Besides the usual changes included in Android 5.1 Lollipop, HTC also confirmed the update brings some improvements for One M9's camera.

Apart from that, HTC One M9 owners should expect some Quick Settings tweaks and dual-SIM support. Also, depending on the carrier, it might also bring HD Voice support. HD Voice support was randomly supported at some carriers, but Android 5.1 Lollipop makes it official.

A new security feature called Device Protection will be added as well. The new feature allows smartphones to remain locked when lost or stolen, until the owner signs in with their Google account, even if someone resets the device to factory settings.

Some changes to volume and interruptions sliders will be implemented too. Three volume sliders, None, Priority and All, now have different icons making it easier to recognize. Other minor graphic improvements will also be added.
