It’s not clear how large the tablet is going to be

Do you miss having around a nice, portable tablet with a pen companion just like the Galaxy Note 8? Then you should be looking towards HP, who is finally making a reappearance after being quite silent for the past few months, tablet-wise.

NeoWin claims that the device maker is gearing up to release the Envy 8 Note tablet, which as you might have already guessed judging by the name, will come with a stylus and full-sized keyboard.

HP apparently describes the slate as a “game changer,” but let’s face it, there are other products available on the market that offer the same features, like the Surface lineup, for example.

The tablet is expected to make a debut into the wild with an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor, 64GB of internal storage, although the microSD card slot on board will help you expand it to more. HP also throws in a 5MP rear camera, but there’s no mention whether a frontal selfie snapper is also included. The tablet will feature 4G LTE and will weigh around 430 g / 0.94 lbs.

We’re not given any details about form factor or resolution, but we have to assume the tablet will be an 8-incher, although the weight of the device does seem to describe a product with a larger frame, maybe a 12-incher to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2? The slate should ship out with Windows 10 out of the box.

The HP Envy 8 Note is expected to make a debut this holiday season with a $500-$600 / €444-€534 price tag, which seems a little too much for a struggling company like HP.
