We reported earlier today that Google decided to add splash screens with its branding to all its apps available in Google Play Store.

Google Drive, Gmail, Sheets, Docs and other apps have been getting this update globally and the rollout will continue in the coming days. However, Google Drive for Android received a more important update that brings some new features and improvements.

According to Google, the latest version of Drive features the ability to download multiple files in the background at the same time. In addition, the update should also bring the option to use the “Send File” feature on more than one file at a time.

But that's not all. The official changelog also mentions the updated version of Drive features a new and improved sharing UI (user interface) when adding people to a file and reviewing who has access.

Last but not least, with the latest version of Drive, users will be able to view file thumbnails in the details pane for folders, as well as report abuse cases in Settings.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Drive for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
