If anyone had any doubt that Google plans to unveil its next Android flagship smartphones, then here is something that should make it official.

The search giant has just confirmed a launch event for September 29, which will take place in San Francisco, United States.

The only tagline written on the invitation says to “join us for some tasty new treats and much more.” While this doesn't really openly confirm the launch of the Nexus smartphones, it's pretty clear that Google will be making the move during the event.

As mentioned a few days ago, Google's next flagship smartphones are likely to be called Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. The former will be manufactured by LG, whereas the latter will be made by Huawei.

The most expensive of the two, Huawei Nexus 6P, will boast a large 6-inch display possibly with support for Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The Nexus 5X should be slightly cheaper since it sports a much smaller 5.2-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution.

We already know quite a bit of information about the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P, but none of it has been confirmed yet, so we suggest our readers to take it with a grain of salt for now.

Along with the reveal of the new Nexus smartphones, Google is also expected to release the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
