Samsung is definitely one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers around the world, which is no surprise since it's the top phone maker in many countries. The company aims to push the limits of the industry with each flagship release, while also providing plenty of options for every market segment.

Samsung Securities is one of the financial business units created under Samsung Group. It's designed to create a new stock trading system, which will reportedly make use of Galaxy Note 7's iris scanner for user authentication, according to Korea Herald.

An official from Samsung Securities has stated, “The identification through the Note 7’s iris scanner, along with the public digital authentication certificate, will be available on Samsung Securities’ mobile trading system.”

Reportedly, other stock trading firms from South Korea are working on new stock trading systems that would use the iris scanning technology. In addition, banks are said to have partnered with Samsung in order to provide customers with the option to access their bank accounts using the iris scanner.

Indeed, iris scanning technology is believed to be one of the most secure ways for user authentication, but it remains to be seen if consumers will actually use this system to access their bank accounts and financial information.

To bring the service to a larger scale, Samsung would need to partner with banks in other countries as well. We could be looking at a new way to access online banking services, but the success of this new system really depends on how well customers respond to user authentication through iris scanning.
