The Meizu MX5 is the latest flagship from the company

The Meizu MX5 was just made official a few hours ago and one of its most acclaimed features is the beastly 20.7MP main camera that takes advantage of a new Sony sensor with laser autofocus.

Now, while this may sound good on paper, you’re probably very curious what the snapper can actually deliver. The phone features f/2.2 aperture lens with 6 optical elements and 1.2-micron pixels. The sensor is even one of the largest ever seen in a phone of the 1.2.3-inch Sony IMX220 variety.

Well, Meizu was kind enough to release the first batch of photographs taken with the MX5’s camera, and as you can see in the gallery below, they deliver excellent quality.

However, do keep in mind that device manufacturers do tend to cherry pick the best photo results, so you might not be seeing all your shots come out like this when you use the MX5 in real life.

Apart from the hefty camera, the new flagship makes an entrance into the market with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and an upgraded 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6975 chipset fitted with 3GB of RAM and 32GB /64GB of internal storage (luckily, there’s a microSD card slot on board, too).
