One of the most popular mobile games of the month, and possibly of this year, Bethesda's Fallout Shelter made its debut at number 1 spot on App Store.

Although it's only available on iOS platform, Fallout Shelter makes more money than Candy Crush Saga, which was until recently the number 3 most profitable game.

According to Bethesda, in the first week following its release, play sessions of Fallout Shelter have exceeded 70 million times a day by fans globally.

“We play games on our phones all the time, and have always wanted to make one. To have our first mobile game be enjoyed by so many is stunning.

“It just shows that gamers appreciate more depth and being treated fairly. It also shows people love Fallout as much as we do,” said Todd Howard, game director at Bethesda Game Studios.

Fallout Shelter is expected to make even more money once the game launches on Android platform, but that might not happen so soon. Bethesda hinted at a possible Android release “in a few months.”

Until then though, you can download Fallout Shelter for iOS for free via App Store. The game is compatible with devices running iOS 7.0 or later. It's also worth mentioning that Fallout Shelter requires at least an iPhone 5, iPad 3, or iPad mini 2.
