Apart from the visual changes, the app stays the same

This week, Dropbox for Android is getting a new update, but no new features will be brought to the table. However, the latest 3.0.0 version does bring an important improvement - it bestows Material Design aesthetics on the app.

It’s been a year since Google first teased us with the new Material Design scheme for Android, and since then, developers have been struggling to incorporate these aesthetic changes into their respective apps.

But Dropbox developers have been taking their sweet time with it. However, late is better than never. As we’ve been telling you, despite the visual revamp, Dropbox will remain the same cloud-cloud storage most of us are familiar with.

Alongside the Material Design affair, Dropbox now features a floating action button which is an iconic feature of Google’s new design language. The app also scored a hamburger menu and a colored status bar that takes advantage of a dark blue theme.

If you haven’t installed Dropbox already, you can go ahead and check out the Google Play store and get it from there.

It sure took Dropbox a while to get the Material Design touches, but it’s surely nice to see the app jump on board with it, finally!
