OnePlus is gearing up to launch a new smartphone

Earlier this week, we told you that OnePlus CEO, Liu Zuohu, all but confirmed the OnePlus X naming scheme for the company’s third smartphone which is expected to arrive soon.

The Chinese device maker scheduled an event for October 12 in India, so we must assume the smartphone will be launched during the festivities. After all, the phone is expected to be a mid-range affair, so launching it in the country makes a lot of sense.

While we wait on the phone to be officially released, we have the chance to check out the phone already thanks to the FCC. A device going by model number One E1005 was spotted in the database, which we must assume is the OnePlus X.

According to the listing, the phone is powered by a 1.9GHz processor and bundles LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 2,450 mAh battery. Apparently, the phone is 139mm tall which indicates a 5-inch display size.

Previous leaks indicate that the OnePlus X will feature FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 441 ppi plus a MediaTek MT6795 processor under the hood (an octa-bit chip clocked at 2.2GHz). The phone’s spec list also includes 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and 13MP/5MP camera combo.

NFC and a USB Type-C port are also to be included. While this is just speculation at this point, we’re bound to know more in a few days.
