The OTA has been delayed due to an issue

Google released the stable version of its latest Android OS about a month ago, and many Nexus and Pixel device owners have been able to download the Android 7.0 Nougat for their smartphones and tablets. However, it seems that a specific group of users have been complaining about performance and battery issues.

Owners of Nexus 6P smartphones who downloaded the factory image for their devices have been affected by some serious performance issues and battery draining. Google has pulled Nexus 6P factory images from its Google Nexus OTA page, but the issue hasn’t been resolved.

Vodafone Australia has issued a short statement regarding the matter, saying that “An issue is affecting rollout of this software update and we are working with Huawei to resolve ASAP. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will keep you posted as soon as we have an update.” It seems that the problem originated at Huawei and not Google.

Google released the factory and OTA images for the Nexus 6P just a few hours ago. The build number is NRD90U and is available for download. The new OTA and factory images include September’s security update, as compared to the previous build that only had August’s security patches.

Android 7.0 Nougat comes with multiple neat features, like split screen multitasking, expanded emojis, customizable home screen widgets, and the option to search for content through apps installed on the device.
