As was previously anticipated, Alcatel has announced the OneTouch Flash 2, the company’s newest camera-centric smartphone.

Like its predecessor, the Alcatel OneTouch Flash, this handset has also been launched in India, where it will be made available for purchase shortly, as well as in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore (as seen at NDTV).

The phone features a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and 294 ppi. It draws life from a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM plus 16GB of internal storage (luckily, there's 128GB of expandable memory via microSD card slot).

Being a camera-centric phone, the OneTouch Flash 2 bundles a pretty capable 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL Sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens with blue glass optical filter, PDAF, 80-degree wide angle, and 1080p video recording capabilities.

As for the selfie camera, it takes advantage of Soft LED flash, OV5648 1/4 sensor and f/2.2 aperture. Other specs include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The phone's life is supported by a 3,000 mAh battery which should give it enough juice.

The Flash 2 launches with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, with hopes that it might receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the future. It comes in Volcanic Grey and Mica White coloring options and should be made available shortly. No pricing info yet.
